Got paint on my first "Black Seas" ship, a frigate...
... and I'm not convinced. Not sure why I don't like it, but something feels off... like, it isn't detailed enough. I tried contrast paints for parts of it, like the yellow... maybe they aren't ideal for this.
Argh. And not in a good, pirate way either.

Perhaps rigging and sails might convince you.

I think it is looking pretty good... you might want to hit it with a dark brown wash to increase the contrast and bring out some more details.
Perhaps a little weathering might help?
Looks good.. deck too bright, but otherwise very nice..!
Yeah, I did a bit heavier wash (I had done the deck with a thinned down wash) and it helped... for some reason, in this photo, the deck is TOTALLY washed out, but you can actually see the detail a lot better in person. Thanks for the advice!
